The first step in determining the amount of flooring you need is to figure out your square footage. Measure the room's width and length. Multiply the two values together to come up with the square footage. We recommend adding an additional 15% to the total square footage to account for any necessary cuts and any errors made during installation.

You can enter the square footage into the Total Square Feet box at the top of the page and it will calculate the amount of cartons you will need for your project.  COREtec flooring is sold by the carton, so your calculation may have to add an additional box to cover your amount needed.

One of the things that makes COREtec flooring great for homes with dogs or kids is how easy it is to maintain it.  Simply sweep or run a dry dust mop over the flooring to remove the dirt, dust and grit. Avoid using treated dust mops, since they may leave a residue behind which can dull your floor over time. For a more thorough clean, you'll want a ph-neutral cleaner, so nothing with a floor polish or detergent in it. We recommend Encore cleaner. Follow label instructions and always vacuum or dust mop before any type of wet cleaning.

Do not use vacuums with rotating beater bars on hard surfaces. Stay away from steam mops, unless they are approved for your specific product (see care guidelines for details). Avoid using products that contain detergent, vinegar, wax, citrus or floor polish.

Steam mops are only approved for use on the COREtec Scratchless flooring. Please use caution when using a steam mop.

• Daily removal of dirt and dust is important to prevent particles from abrading the surface of resilient floors. Sweeping, dust mopping, and vacuuming are recommendations to remove soil particles that can result in scratches and worn appearances. Do not use vacuums with rotating beater bars on hard surfaces.
• Periodic wet cleaning will be necessary to help maintain the floor’s appearance. Always pre- vacuum or dust mop before any type of wet cleaning. Appropriate vinyl floor cleaning equipment and cleaning agents (neutral pH floor cleaners) are recommended. Do not use abrasive cleaners or cleaning agents that leave dull residues on the surface of the floors. Follow the cleaning manufacturer’s instructions for damp mopping and application. If rinsing is necessary, use clean water and expedite drying with air movers or fans.
• Encore, COREtec neutral pH floor cleaner or equivalent floor cleaner are recommended for general spotting and cleaning.
• ​Avoid using mop and shine products on your resilient flooring.
• ​Products containing bleach and steam mops are not recommended.

As with any flooring surface, you’ll want to absorb wet spills as quickly as possible from COREtec flooring by blotting the spill with cloth towels or paper towels.  If necessary, rinse the area with water and blot dry. If the spot is dried, remove the spot by using gentle agitation, and then rinse with clean water and blot the area until dry.   

For stubborn spots that water or our Encore cleaner won't remove, use simple rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) with a clean white cloth. Do not use detergents or abrasive cleaners since these products can leave a dull residue.
